I like Neil Gaiman, I really do: he’s definitely a fantastic storyteller, and I should read more of his works, especially since American Gods proved to be such a good book back when I had the chance to read it the first time…

Now, I happened to stumble upon a free online printing of A Study in Emerald (I know, I’m some 10 years late – better late than never I suppose 😀 ): what an awesome short story! It combines material from two of my favorite childhood authors (A. C. Doyle and H. P. Lovecraft), creating an intriguing and dark Victorian setting with some interesting and unexpected twists.

And the format and layout of the printing! A 19th century newspaper which really sets the mood with ads and insets for additional flavor…

Pure genius.
